1 Eagle sighting 

 We left Grand Harbor and traveled down Pickwick Lake MS.  What a beautiful lake!! A boaters paradise!

There are many islands to explore.

Rocky cliffs to jump from or rope swings to plung into the lake.

There are very few homes and many private coves to drop anchor and spend the weekend.

This looked like a great campground .. But we saw no one and no cars.. My guess is these are permanent campsites ..

 To keep the drift wood and debris from entering this waterway , the creeks drain through this catch basin.. 

It seems to work... There is little debris to avoid while traveling.

Buster keeps a close watch!

Past Pickwick Lake is a channel.. Pretty straight and narrow ! Known as the ditch..

It's well maintained and traveled quite a bit by barges.. We had another great eagle sighting.. I was able to get some good shots of it with my camera.. I'll have to wait to forward them to display them.

We stopped just short of the first lock of 12 to get to Mobile. 

It was an easy dinghy ride to a boat launch which makes it nicer to step ashore . Prettier too!

Fall is in the air and the temperatures have been perfect.

Clear skies and little wind have been great too!
